Akiesha Gilcrist Sainvil Appointed to Preeclampsia Foundation Board of Directors

MIAMI – April 14, 2025 – Akiesha Gilcrist Sainvil, a Litigation Practice shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been appointed to serve on the Preeclampsia Foundation Board of Directors.

The Preeclampsia Foundation is a not-for-profit patient advocacy organization whose mission is to improve the outcomes of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy by educating, supporting and engaging the community, improving health care practices, and finding a cure. Globally, preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal and infant illness and death, taking the lives of over 76,000 moms and 500,000 babies each year, according to the organization’s website.

“As a two-time survivor of preeclampsia, raising awareness and supporting research for this cause is something very personal to me and to my family,” said Sainvil, a mother of two young children. “I look forward to working closely with the other board members to help individuals and families affected by this condition. Together, we can ensure they have access to the critical resources they need.”

Based in the firm’s Miami office, Sainvil focuses her practice on complex, high-stakes product liability and commercial disputes. She has experience representing multinational corporations, manufacturers, financial institutions, and national retailers in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration. Her practice includes handling and advising on strategy in multidistrict product liability litigations, mass tort and single-plaintiff actions, as well as breach of contract disputes, fraud claims, and transaction-related business conflicts.

Dedicated to giving back to her community, Sainvil has held various leadership roles in legal and community organizations, including state bar associations, national mentorship programs, and community boards focused on youth development.
