MIAMI – July 16, 2024 – Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Miami Co-Managing Shareholder Yosbel A. Ibarra has been recognized as one of the South Florida Business Journal’s 2024 Diverse Voices.
The South Florida Business Journal’s Diverse Voices award program recognizes executives with diverse backgrounds whose business acumen has contributed to their companies’ success. Honorees are selected based on their professional accomplishments, community leadership and philanthropy, career milestones, and past noteworthy recognitions.
“Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) is not a goal in and of itself, but rather the natural process by which you ensure your organization has the very best individuals working as part of your team,” Ibarra said. “As a firm leader, Cuban immigrant, and member of the LGBTQ+ community, I know that professionals from diverse backgrounds are attracted to organizations where they can see themselves succeeding. At Greenberg Traurig, DEI is embedded in our firm’s core values, business strategies, and workplace culture.”
Ibarra was recognized for his work to promote women and attorneys of diverse backgrounds to leadership positions. He was recently recognized by the International Bar Association’s Women Lawyers’ Committee as one of the initial 10 worldwide “Male Champions for Change” for his efforts in promoting gender equity in the legal profession.
He also supports organizations that empower and serve diverse communities. As chair of Mosaic Miami, Ibarra works to ensure that the organization continues to promote dialogue and to recognize that community members’ differences are what has made Miami a global city. He also is a board member for the Adrienne Arsht Center Trust and the Council of the Americas, which promotes social development, open markets, rule of law, and democracy throughout the Americas. Ibarra also is an officer of the Law Firm Management Committee of the International Bar Association and active with United Way Miami, where he served as co-chair of one of the organization’s signature fundraising events, VeritageMiami.
As co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office, Ibarra oversees approximately 400 attorneys and business professionals. He has guided Greenberg Traurig’s strategic expansion in Miami with the addition of more than two dozen lateral shareholders in key practice areas over the past seven years, positioning the firm at the center of Miami’s growth as a hub for technology and innovation. As a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate Practice and former co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Latin America Practice, he regularly advises multinational corporations and prominent Latin American investors in international corporate transactions, including investments, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures throughout Latin America and the United States.
