MIAMI – March 5, 2024 – Seth J. Entin, shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A.’s Tax Practice, spoke at the International Bar Association (IBA)’s 29th Annual International Private Client Tax Conference, March 4 in London. This year’s theme was “navigating the private client world in turbulent times,” with the conference exploring topics such as artificial intelligence, the General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR), matrimonial jurisdictions, estate tax treaties, and more.
Entin spoke on a panel titled “Oh my GAAR! Have general tax anti-avoidance rules changed the way we approach tax planning?” The panel discussed the strategies various nations employ to counter tax evasion, either through specific actions or broad anti-evasion regulations, the effectiveness of GAARs in eradicating unacceptable tax evasion methods, and if they sometimes overstep their bounds in hindering lawful planning.
Entin focuses his practice on the international taxation of high-net-worth individuals and families, international corporate taxation, Internal Revenue Service international tax audits, and IRS voluntary disclosures.
With 25 years of experience, Entin has earned numerous accolades. In 2016, he was recognized as “Miami Lawyer of the Year” in Tax Law by The Best Lawyers in America®. He has also been recognized by Chambers USA— America’s Leading Business Lawyers guide since 2007.
