Ejim Achi Named Among Crain’s New York’s ‘Notable Black Leaders’

NEW YORK – Feb. 21, 2023 – Ejim Achi, co-managing shareholder of the New York office and co-chair of the New York Corporate Practice of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, was selected by Crain’s New York Business to its “2023 Notable Black Leaders” list.

Achi is the fourth attorney at the firm to be selected to Crain’s New York’s Notable Leaders lists within the past year. Honorees are selected for their success and accomplishments during the prior 18 months and their ability to effect change in their career, according to the publication.

“As an immigrant raised by a hardworking single mother, I have been a beneficiary of the generosity of others and I believe I have a responsibility to encourage and empower people who come from similar circumstances,” Achi said.

Achi’s interest in empowering less fortunate members of the New York community includes addressing homelessness amongst the Black community in New York City. He is on the board of directors of the Center for Urban Community Services, one of the nation’s largest providers of supportive housing services. At Greenberg Traurig, Achi is a formal mentor in the firm’s African American affinity group, G.A.I.N., a key component of the firm’s award-wining Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative.

As a key member of Greenberg Traurig’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Practices, Achi enjoys a robust practice, having recently led the firm’s representation of Neuberger Berman in its acquisition of America’s Test Kitchen, Patient Square Capital in its $1.2 billion acquisition of Hangar Inc., Blue Wolf Capital and GCM Grosvenor in their acquisition of Hallcon Corporation, and Crestview Partners in its acquisition of Emerald EMS.
