ATLANTA – Sept. 14, 2022 –Greenberg Traurig Co-President Ernest LaMont Greer will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Anti-Defamation League Southeast (ADL) Sept. 15 at the organization’s 25th Anniversary Jurisprudence Luncheon. This honor follows a year of recognitions for Greer, including his induction into the 2022 Junior Achievement Atlanta Business Hall of Fame, and receiving the 2021 Legacy Award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, as well as the 2021 CEO of the Year by The Atlanta Business League.
ADL’s Jurisprudence Awards pay tribute each year to lawyers who have, over the course of their careers, dedicated themselves to securing justice and fair treatment for all people. According to ADL, the Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a lawyer who adheres to the highest ideals of the profession and seeks to make a difference in the world. Previous honorees include Congressman John Lewis, Governor Roy Barnes, Justices Leah Ward Sears, Robert Benham, and Carol Hunstein.

Greer is one of few African American executives at an Am Law 20 firm. As co-president of the $2 billion+ global firm, he is a key member of Greenberg Traurig’s leadership. He is dedicated to continuing to shape the firm’s brand as a collaborative law firm providing high-quality legal work and excellent service to clients and the communities it serves. Greer also serves as chairman of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Previously, he served as vice president of the firm, co-chair of the U.S. Strategic Committee, and the Atlanta office’s managing shareholder.
Greer is a highly accomplished business attorney and an outstanding recognized leader in Georgia and throughout the country with a vision for creating opportunities for others. He serves on the boards for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Atlanta History Center, Achieve Atlanta, the Atlanta Police Foundation, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and Equal Justice Works. He also currently serves as a director on the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta and of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Guardsman, Inc. Past board memberships include the Center for Civil & Human Rights, the Atlanta History Center, 100 Black Men of Atlanta, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, and The Carter Center’s Board of Councilors, which he joined at former President Carter’s request. Greer also served as the chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in 2014, where he was the first lawyer to serve in this capacity in the Chamber’s more than 100-year history.
