The Daily Business Review's Top Dealmakers special report has reached a 10-year milestone, proving many honorees have been at the top of their game for years. Special awards for repeat recognition could go to Donn Beloff, Albert del Castillo, Mark Gilbert and Manuel de Zarraga.
This year's awards focus on the work of South Florida attorneys, brokers and others who back some of the most notable transactions for companies in the region and beyond. This year's exemplars feature 33 teams in 14 categories.
In keeping with the region's more cosmopolitan feel, the neighborhood for these deals is ever-expanding. Big-dollar highlights include a $3.5 billion acquisition of a company based in Ireland with subsidiaries in North Korea, Iran and Cuba. Other deals were executed from Peru to New York.
Closer to home, a bond issue protects Citizens Property Insurance Corp. from unbearable hurricane claims.
