Joey T. Shabot is the Managing Shareholder of the Tel-Aviv office and focuses his practice on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, investments, securities law and financing. His experience includes advising on complex matters involving companies across a variety of industries throughout the world, including the United States, Israel, Asia, Europe, MENA Region and Latin America.

Joey has particular experience representing global companies who are investing in Israel for the first time, as well as repeat players active in the region. Joey also advises many Israeli companies on expanding their U.S. growth and corporate development strategies. Joey maintains a vast network of Israeli law firm colleagues specializing in numerous areas, with whom he often collaborates in serving his and their clients’ diverse legal needs.

Joey also dedicates himself to pro bono work in which he has represented United Hatzalah, an international first response organization, the global WIZO organization, and other global charities.

  • Represented Guy Carpenter, a business of Marsh McLennan and a leading global risk and reinsurance specialist, on the acquisition of Re Solutions, Israel’s leading independent reinsurance broker.
  • Advised ITT Inc. (NYSE: ITT) in their acquisition of Israeli valve manufacturer Habonim.
  • Represented Volvo in an investment in Upstream Security Ltd., an Israeli company that develops cloud-based cybersecurity solutions to the automotive industry.
  • Represented Danone Manifesto Ventures S.A. the VC arm of Danone A. in its investment in Imagindairy Ltd. and in Wilk Technologies Ltd., two Israeli food tech companies.
  • Represented Wells Fargo Strategic Capital, the venture capital arm of Wells Fargo & Co and a specialized capital provider, on its investment into an Israeli technology company.
  • Represented Amadeus IT Group, S.A. in numerous M&A and venture capital transactions in Israel, Europe and the U.S.
  • Advises Neva SGR S.p.A, the venture capital company of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, Italy's largest bank in its investments in various tech companies in Israel.
  • Represented Canon in their acquisition of Israeli video analysis company BriefCam (media coverage)
  • Represent Harel Insurance Ltd. on a variety of real estate, private equity and financing transactions in the United States.
  • Representation of Aqua-Spark, in their investment into the Israeli-based aqua-culture start-up Biofishency.
  • Represented Pitango, a leading Israeli venture capital funds in an investment in an Israel- based IOT startup Neura.
  • Represent iintoo, a global social fundraising platform, in numerous U.S. regulatory and financing matters.
  • Assist Blue Atlantic Partners in creating programmatic joint venture together with two of Israel’s largest investment houses, Psagot and Poalim Capital Markets.
  • Represented Clal Insurance in its investment into Carr Properties REIT.
  • Represent several major Israeli insurance companies and pension funds in real estate joint ventures and private equity investments in the U.S.
  • Advised U.S. Fortune 500 company in its first ever transaction in Israel, a $250 million acquisition of an Israeli network equipment manufacturer.
  • Involved in numerous transactions for a large U.S. online Travel Company in its investments in its Chinese majority owned subsidiary and other investments in China.
  • Advised the Israeli Delek Group with its $220 million sale of its U.S. property & casualty insurance business. (Hebrew).
  • Advised Mekorot, Israel’s national water company, with respect to foreign infrastructure projects.
  • Advised Burger King on various matters related to its franchise in Israel.
  • Advised Papaya Global Ltd. on various corporate matters.

  • Representation of IDE Technologies on a variety of U.S. legal matters.
  • Advised Worthy.com on numerous U.S. regulatory, financing and M&A matters.
  • Represent Entera Bio Ltd., an Israeli product-focused biotechnology company specializing in the oral delivery of large molecules and biologics, with regards to their securities and compliance needs.
  • Advised Korea Development Bank on a USD $120 million loan agreement to the purchaser of Israeli company Go Global Ltd.
  • Represent the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Vesttoo Ltd. in Vesttoo’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding in the United States.
