BOSTON — Aug. 31, 2015 — Roman Fayerberg, patent attorney and shareholder in international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP's Intellectual Property (IP) Group in Boston, will be a speaker at the 2015 MEDevice San Diego Conference & Showcase in San Diego, California.
On Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, from 11 a.m. to noon, Fayerberg will moderate the panel discussion, "Integrating Personalized Medicine into Next-Gen Medical Device Development.” The panel will discuss how the value of genomics and personalized medicine is evolving as a diagnostic tool, the next wave of devices with diagnostic applications and customized therapies, and how gene sequencing can be utilized in medical technology to deliver new benefits for patients and practitioners.
In addition, Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m., Fayerberg will present “Patent Strategies to Protect Innovative Medical Technology & New Product Development.” This presentation will examine recent developments in patent law, including continued patent reforms in the U.S. and Europe, industry trends, and recent court decisions that impact medical device patent strategies. The session will also address the impact of patent trolls on the startup ecosystem, and how U.S. patent reform is addressing this issue.
Fayerberg is a patent attorney focused on the development and management of strategic patent portfolios and counseling clients on patent issues, primarily in technologies related to life sciences. He also advises clients in connection with intellectual property due diligence investigations for venture capital investment, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing opportunities. His patent practice builds on seven years of experience he gained as a research and development engineer at C.R. Bard and Boston Scientific Corporation.
