The Supreme Court of Illinois has held that Illinois does not recognize the certification of specialization, and such certification is not a requirement to practice law in Illinois.
Wyoming State Bar does not certify lawyer as a specialist or expert. One considering a lawyer should independently investigate the lawyer’s credentials and ability and not rely upon advertising and self-proclaimed expertise.

Per Texas Rules of Professional Conduct: Lawyers resident in GT offices in Texas are not certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization unless otherwise indicated in an individual attorney biography.
