Greenberg Traurig 's Intellectual Property & Technology Group will host the CLE webinar, “Patent Prosecution through the Eyes of a USPTO Examiner.” In this webinar, a moderated panel of five former U.S. patent examiners will present their views on effectively partnering and working with their colleagues at the USPTO. Drawing on their over 15 years of USPTO experience, the former examiners, all now Greenberg Traurig patent attorneys or patent agents, will cover a number of topics including factors to consider when conducting in-person and remote interviews, effective office action response strategies, and understanding the USPTO count system.
Key topics to be discussed:
• Demystifying the USPTO Production and Count System.
• Pacing prosecution through the examiner’s “docket”.
• Explaining examiner’s prior art search tools.
• Responding to Office Actions – “Do’s and Don’ts”.
• Approaching and conducting an examiner interview.
• Understanding how seniority at the USPTO may impact prosecution.
• Dealing with an impasse, including appeal and non-traditional approaches.
