Matthew Thomas is a member of the Litigation Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s Dallas office. Matt focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. Matt has significant experience litigating cases before state and federal courts, including multi-district litigation and bankruptcy courts.

  • Briefed and obtained multimillion-dollar summary judgment (including attorneys’ fees award) for telecommunications infrastructure acquisition company in breach of lease agreement dispute (400th District Court).
  • Obtained $4.1 million summary judgment on a breach of contract claim for a boutique consulting and advisory firm focused on mergers and acquisitions (S.D. Tex.).°
  • Briefed, argued, and obtained dismissal with prejudice for a major oil and gas company on jurisdictional grounds on the eve of trial (218th District Court).°

  • Catalyst Strategic Advisors, L.L.C. v. Three Diamond Capital SBC, L.L.C., 93 F. 4th 870 (5th Cir. 2024). Court of appeals upheld district court’s $4.1 million grant of summary judgment in favor of boutique consulting and advisory client, rejecting application of procuring-cause doctrine to commission-based contract.
