Piotr Nerwiński heads Greenberg Traurig Warsaw’s Project and Structured Finance Practice. He has in-depth experience advising on broad spectrum of financing transactions on the Polish and other Central and Eastern European markets. He focuses on project finance, real estate finance, sustainability-linked loans and other structured financings. Piotr puts a particular focus on the renewables financing, where he advised on the largest wind and PV power plants financings in the region. He represents a number of Polish and foreign banks, multilaterals, private debt providers, sponsors and borrowers. In 2015 and 2016, Piotr completed two six-month secondments to the EBRD in London, where he worked on financing projects in SEE, CEE and CIS.

Erfahrung

  • Represented Taaleri and Masdar in connection with a multimillion financing of the 154 MW Čibuk II wind farm (based on CfD system) in Serbia and earlier also in connection with an EUR 205 million refinancing of the 158 MW Čibuk wind farm, the largest wind power project in Serbia.°
  • Represented DNB and mBank in connection with a EUR 90 million revolving credit facility extended to Greenvolt Power, a company belonging to Greenvolt Group, for the construction of wind farms and large-scale photovoltaic projects in Poland. This pioneering financing provides the investors with flexible access to capital that can be reused to add new projects to the financing.°
  • Represented GoldenPeaks Capital on number of financing transactions for construction of photovoltaic portfolios various banks and alternative debt providers through-out last couple of years, with a total capacity of hundreds of MW.°
  • Represented EBRD and Eiffel Investment Group (Eiffel) in connection with a bridge financing loan of EUR 45 million to support the construction and operation of 16 photovoltaic power plants in Poland by Lords LB Asset Management. This is the first project co-financed under a new partnership between Eiffel and EBRD, aimed at accelerating the green transition.°
  • Represented EBRD, DNB Bank Polska, mBank, Bank Pekao, PZU and Banca Intesa SanPaolo in connection with the financing granted to Potęgowo Mashav for the extension of the 256.9 MW Potęgowo wind farm, Poland's largest onshore wind power plant and first wind project financed based on the auction support (CfD).°
  • Represented Banco Santander, Santander Bank Polska, EIB, CaixaBank, EKF (Denmark’s Export Credit Agency) in connection with a PLN 674 million financing granted to subsidiaries of EDP Renewables for the development, construction and operation of six wind farms with a total capacity of approx. 150 MW.°
  • Represented EBRD, DNB and EKF (Denmark's Export Credit Agency) in connection with a PLN 350 million financing granted to Polish subsidiaries of DIF Capital Partners for the acquisition, development and operation of the Grajewo and Sulmierzyce wind farms located in Poland with a total capacity of 63.1 MW.°
  • Represented Kommunalkredit in connection with EUR 23 million loan extended to Green Genius, a company belonging to the Modus Group, to refinance the existing indebtedness of 11 biogas power plants with a total capacity of 10.8 MW located in Lithuania.°
  • Represented Globalworth in connection with EUR 145 million refinancing from a German bank with respect to the Skylight and Lumen office complex in the center of Warsaw as well as the Hala Koszyki multifunctional facility with the first food hall in the capital.°
  • Represented NORD/LB and Euler Hermes (German export credit agency in connection with an EUR 53 million financing provided to European Energy A/S for the construction and operation of the 38.8 MW Liskowo wind farm in northwestern Poland. It was the first project finance transaction supported by Euler Hermes in Poland.°
  • Represented DNB Bank Polska, EKF (Denmark’s Export Credit Agency) in connection with a multimillion financing granted for the construction of a wind farm in northern Poland with a total capacity of more than 144.9 MW by international investors.°
  • Represented HB Reavis in connection with the EUR 350 million financing granted to three subsidiaries of HB Reavis by a multinational syndicate of banks (Santander Bank Polska, Helaba, Bank Pekao and UniCredit) for the construction of Varso Place, HB Reavis’ flagship development in Warsaw. It is the largest construction loan in the history of the Polish real estate market to date.°
  • Represented Landesbank Baden-Württemberg and the European Investment Bank in connection with approx. EUR 84 million financing extended by the banks for the development of four wind farms in the Wielkopolska Province, Poland, with a total capacity of 102.5 MW by WPD.°
  • Represented Hines in connection with a financing granted by PKO Bank Polski for the acquisition (on behalf of the Korean company IGIS Assent Management) of the Zalando Distribution Center in Ameryka near Olsztynek (Poland) from Hillwood Development. The asset was a fully commercialized built-to-suit investment with a warehouse area of 120,000 sqm and Zalando was the sole tenant.°
  • Represented HSBC Bank plc in connection with approx. EUR 635 million real estate finance investment facilities to Chariot Top Group BV, an SPV owned by PIMCO, Oaktree Capital Management and Redefine Properties, to acquire a retail portfolio of 28 real estate assets from Ares Management, AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets and Apollo Rida. The transaction is valued at approx. EUR 1 billion.°
  • Represented shareholder of Pelion in connection with financing of the acquisition of shares in Pelion, a company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, by way of a tender offer.°
