Taryn Harper focuses her practice on products liability litigation, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical, medical device, cosmetics and personal care, and consumer products litigation. She leads the defense of products liability matters in both state and federal courts, including single plaintiff actions, class actions, and mass tort actions involving a variety of products and injuries.

Prior to joining the firm, Taryn served as law clerk to three federal judges and gained early experience in general commercial, criminal, and civil litigation. Taryn serves as Pro Bono Coordinator for the firm’s Atlanta office and is actively involved in pro bono representation and community organizations. She is a member of the Defense Research Institute where she serves on the Steering Committee for the Drug and Medical Device Litigation Division. She is also involved in Atlanta Legal Aid Society, for which she serves as Chair of the Service Council.

  • Represents pharmaceutical manufacturer in multidistrict litigation and coordinated state-court actions involving a chemotherapy medication.
  • Serves as national counsel for one of the largest medical device manufacturers in product liability lawsuits involving a variety medical devices, including endotracheal tubes, balloon catheters, spinal cord stimulation systems, cerebrospinal fluid drainage and monitoring systems, ventricular and lumbar catheters, cerebral shunts, insulin pumps, pain pumps, and defibrillators.
  • Assists in defense of leading cosmetics and personal care products manufacturer in multidistrict litigation, various single-plaintiff, and consolidated state-court actions involving talcum powder product alleged to cause ovarian cancer and mesothelioma.
  • Represents outdoor adventures company in matter involving allegations of personal injury and tort.
  • Assists individuals on a pro bono basis in a variety of matters, including in the areas of immigration, landlord-tenant, legal name changes, and estate planning.
  • Represents medical device manufacturer in product liability matters involving surgical and neurological navigation devices and neurovascular catheters.
  • Defended medical technology manufacturer in one of the largest and most complex mass torts matters involving surgical mesh.
  • Counsels consumer products manufacturers in relation to regulatory compliance activities.
  • Defended e-scooter company in personal injury matter through arbitration.
