Greenberg Traurig Receives 7 Recognitions in Daily Business Review’s 2025 Florida Legal Awards

MIAMI – Feb. 11, 2025 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. and its attorneys received seven recognitions in the Daily Business Review’s (DBR) 2025 Florida Legal Awards. These annual awards recognize distinguished members of the Florida legal community.

All honorees and finalists will be celebrated — and the winners announced — at the DBR’s annual awards ceremony April 3 at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami.

Miami Litigation Shareholder Alan T. Dimond will be honored with the “Lifetime Achievement” award. Miami Litigation Shareholder Evelyn Cobos will be recognized as an honoree in the “On the Rise” category.

Additionally, Greenberg Traurig was named a finalist in the following categories:

“We are honored to receive multiple recognitions in this year’s Florida Legal Awards, which reflect the firm’s exceptional service and positive results for our clients,” Greenberg Traurig Senior Chairman Matthew B. Gorson said. “These awards recognize the dedication and excellence of our attorneys and reaffirm our commitment to serving the legal community in Florida and beyond. Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees.”

Dimond was recognized for his contributions to the legal profession and broader South Florida community. With more than 50 years of “first chair” experience in commercial and real estate-related litigation, Dimond served as lead counsel for the developers of Fisher Island and spearheaded the trial team that secured a $30 million settlement for the Estate of Eastern Air Lines in an environmental damage case. As president of The Florida Bar from 1992-1993, Dimond led efforts to foster inclusivity within the profession. Equally devoted to community service, he chaired the Jackson Memorial Hospital Foundation and served on the United Way and Baptist Health boards, as well as The George Washington University Law School board.

Cobos was honored for her work representing clients in a wide range of complex commercial matters before state and federal courts. Her recent high-profile victories include defending a product manufacturer in deceptive trade practices cases and a global software company in a $43 billion Lanham Act false advertising case. She also represents Assurant in first-party property litigation claims statewide. A champion not only for her clients but for women in the South Florida community, Cobos was appointed co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami Women’s Initiative, which supports the inclusion and advancement of the firm’s women attorneys. She often works pro bono for women and children in need and volunteers for local organizations, including serving as a board member for The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade.
