WILMINGTON, Del. – Feb. 13, 2025 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has expanded its Litigation Practice with the addition of Sarah Runnells Martin as a shareholder in the Delaware office. She joins the firm from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP.
“We welcome Sarah, whose significant experience adds to our deep bench of highly skilled litigators, who have represented clients for many years in all of Delaware’s courts, including the Court of Chancery, the Complex Commercial Litigation Division of the Superior Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware,” said Diane N. Ibrahim, senior vice president of Greenberg Traurig and managing shareholder of the Delaware office. “Our Delaware litigation team works seamlessly with the firm’s corporate attorneys in Delaware and throughout the country to provide clients with holistic representation, which is a particularly important advantage for companies incorporated in Delaware.”
Martin focuses her practice on corporate and complex commercial litigation, including representing clients in connection with derivative litigation, class actions, “broken deal” litigation, special committee investigations and litigations, federal securities suits, appraisal litigation, books and records demands and litigation, proxy contests, and hostile takeovers in state and federal courts in Delaware and nationwide. She regularly advises corporations and their boards of directors on issues of corporate governance and the Delaware General Corporation Law.
For more than 16 years, Martin has represented corporate clients in various industries and sectors, including financial services, life sciences, consumer packaged goods, retail, and others.
“The synergy between Greenberg Traurig Delaware’s litigation and corporate practices, coupled with the firm’s longstanding presence in Delaware and global platform of legal expertise, made my decision to join an easy one,” Martin said. “It is the perfect place for me to grow my practice, which is rooted in providing business-focused legal counsel that aims to mitigate risk and maximize results in complex matters.”
Martin received a J.D. from Cornell Law School, magna cum laude, and a B.A. from Cornell University. She was named a Rising Star by Law360 in 2022, which honors “attorneys under 40 whose legal accomplishments belie their age.”
Martin’s joining Greenberg Traurig comes just after the firm’s addition in the Delaware office of Corporate Associate Anastasia M. Bowes earlier this month.
Greenberg Traurig’s Delaware office marked its 25th anniversary this past year. In recognition of this milestone, the office held a “25 Days of Giving” campaign over the last few months. Attorneys and professional staff engaged in a variety of community-focused initiatives, including volunteering, making philanthropic donations to local organizations, and organizing supply and food drives. The campaign concluded with a celebration earlier this month, honoring its success and the firm’s impact on the local community over the past 25 years.
