FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – July 16, 2018 – Kate Kalmykov, an Immigration & Compliance shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s New Jersey office, has been recognized by the Council of Jewish Émigré Community Organizations (COJECO) for her dedication to furthering Jewish cultural education and support for Jewish organizations. Kalmykov currently serves as the co-president of COJECO and has been a board member since 2013.
The benefit recognizes individuals and organizations that have strengthened the Russian Jewish community through excellence in leadership, advocacy, and support of Russian-speaking Jewish culture and heritage. Kalmykov was recognized at the organization’s Annual Gala, May 23 at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York City. Kalmykov is active in the New York Russian Jewish Community, working to raise funds and support various programs that include informal Jewish education cultural programs, leadership development initiatives, support for grassroots initiatives, and assistance to Jewish organizations interested in providing culturally-sensitive and appropriate programming for the Russian-speaking Jews of all ages.
Kalmykov focuses her practice on business immigration and compliance. She represents clients in a wide-range of employment based immigrant and non-immigrant visa matters including students, trainees, professionals, managers and executives, artists and entertainers, treaty investors and traders, persons of extraordinary ability, and immigrant investors.
Kalmykov is frequently recognized for her legal achievements and has been listed in the Chambers USA Guide, The Legal 500 United States, Super Lawyers magazine, and the New Jersey Law Journal, among others. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Asian American Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
