DALLAS – October 10, 2016 – Sean McKenna, shareholder in the Dallas office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will moderate a panel discussion at the annual Texas Hospital Association Conference held Oct. 10th – 11th in Austin, TX. The presentation entitled, “Enforcement Update,” will address regulatory updates in health law and consequences related to health care fraud and abuse. The two-day conference is co-presented by the Health Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and features continuing legal education from national and regional health law experts.
McKenna will present with Nathaniel Kummerfeld and Joshua Russ, both Assistant United States Attorneys in the Eastern District of Texas. McKenna is a frequent speaker on health care and enforcement topics and is a member of the council for Health Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. McKenna also is the co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section Membership Committee.
McKenna focuses his practice on health care enforcement and regulatory issues, representing individuals and providers under civil or administrative investigation by the Department of Justice, Offices of Inspector General, and Attorneys’ General Medicaid Fraud Control Units, as well as in criminal investigations and matters involving the United States and State Attorneys General. As a former 10-year Assistant United States Attorney, Associate Counsel to the Inspector General, and General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, he focuses his practice on matters involving the health care industry and regularly represents clients before Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial contractors. McKenna earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
