Greenberg Traurig Expands Corporate Practice in California

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. – Oct. 25, 2022 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues to grow its Corporate Practice with the addition of Yejee Marilyn Kim as of counsel in the Orange County and Los Angeles offices.

Kim is re-joining Greenberg Traurig from a position as senior director, corporate counsel for Edwards Lifesciences, an S&P 500 company with a $54 billion dollar market capitalization and one of the largest publicly traded companies headquartered in Orange County.

Kim’s previous role at Edwards Lifesciences involved providing legal advice on Securities and Exchange Commission and New York Stock Exchange compliance matters, in addition to corporate governance matters. Although her practice at Greenberg Traurig will include corporate governance and securities compliance, it will also focus on wider corporate transactional work, such as public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity matters.

“With Marilyn’s broad experience working on both domestic and cross-border transactions, she is set up well to advise clients across a wide swath of industries and provide strategic support to the Capital Markets Practice,” said Mark J. Kelson, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Corporate Practice. “Marilyn will be working primarily with other California attorneys but on a variety of global transactions, including matters in Latin America and Europe.”

“Marilyn is someone we have known and admired for many years for her client-centric approach and the high quality of her work,” said Susan L. Heller and Bruce Fischer, co-managing shareholders of Greenberg Traurig’s Orange County office. “Her invaluable in-house experience will have a meaningful influence on our award-winning work here in California.”

Kim received her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is fluent in Korean.
